± 5 (550g) – Apples, peeled and chopped
1 Cup (250ml) – Water
1/4 – 1/2 Tsp (2.5-5ml) – Vanilla Essence
1 – 2 Tsp – Maple Syrup (Optional)
• Cook the apples and water on a medium heat with lid slightly open for 25 – 30 minutes.
• Blend the cooked apples smooth with an electric hand blender or food processor.
• You can add more water if you prefer a thinner sauce.
• Stir vanilla and maple syrup in. The maple syrup is optional and depend on the sweetness of the apples you used. I normally add just 1 tsp to get the maple taste in the sauce.
(This recipe will be paleo friendly if you replace the vanilla essence with vanilla bean or you can just omit it completely)
